Ginny started her nursing career in August 1989 when she started her nursing training at Lovelock Jones School of Nursing in High Wycombe. As a qualified nurse Ginny worked in the acute sector, including male surgery, ENT, acute medical, medical assessment unit and took a year nursing on a working holiday to Australia. In 2002 Ginny recognised her passion for nursing care was in end-of-life care and worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the community for a Hospice at Home Service. Ginny has also worked in Social Care, as an end-of-life care lead for an organisation that managed Residential Care homes, Nursing homes and Domiciliary care for the Elderly, those with Dementia and those with Learning Disabilities. Ginny has also worked as a Practice development Nurse, and this is where she became aware that not only was her passion end of life care but also teaching. Ginny has recognised that end of life care is not always equal for all, and to ensure we have equality in care, is to ensure that those who care for people are educated, have good knowledge, and understanding of the importance, of a gold standard of care, at end of life. Ginny first joined GSF in November 2018.
